Hey...
I suppose I should introduce myself. I'm Jennie, and I'm new to this
group. and wow, that didn't sound much like I was at an AA meeting did
it?
Annnnnyyyyywaaaaayyy...
I'm not a new writer, I've been writing gen, het and slash fiction for
various fandoms for nearly 10 years, but I am new to this fandom in
terms of writing for it, (I've been lurking about reading for a little
while now.) and I've been a fan of Star Trek sinse by brother
litterally pinned me down and terrified the life out of me by making
me watch the Wrath of Khan when I was 4. (I've only just been able to
watch that film through again without cowering behind the sofa... yes
I know its not THAT scary... and yes I know its awesome and brilliant
and awesome again, but when you're 4 its as scary as holy hell, and
The Voyage Home is much more suitable and was greatly enjoyed many
times by my pre-teen self, much to my brother's chargrine... serves
him right!)
So, back to the point. I'm totally besotted by DS9, and By Julian
Bashir in general (and I was from when the serious first came out... I
even had a poster on my wall. I need help, I know this.) but now I
have an idea for a story, a Bashir/OMC AU/'What If' slash story and I
need a beta for it. Its not smutty I might add, since although I can
read it, and can certainly think it, I turn bright scarlet if I try to
write it and lose the ability to form coherant words. I can tend
towards the darker side of things, and have been known to be very mean
to my favourite characters, but if anyone would like to help me out
here, or if anyone would even be interested in reading something like
this at all (I know how fandoms die, as a Buffy writer of many years I
know all too well about dying fandoms, and I know how this might just
not be of interest to anyone), I'd appriciated the input.
Look forward to responses.
Jen
OOH... PS. I appriciate that this might not be exactly the right
group, I've seen mention but can't find a link to the adult group, so
if someone could point me in the right direction if I've got this
wrong, I'd be much obliged.
